Alcove Charity Match 2019

Alzheimer’s Society

Final total raised was  £3,625.51

The weather for a change was rather pleasant which allowed for a more social event.  All the entrants tried their best and a few of the larger carp made an appearance notably a brand new 30lb fish for the lake caught by Robert Barton, called Queen Mary. The BBQ went well if a little late due to technical problems. The Winner of the match, Paul Whitmore was not asked to jump in the lake which is usual for our charity event as he has a leg injury at the moment. As his prize Paul received a throphy to keep and his name will be on the charity plaque in Tetlee’s, a toprod hoodie, and a week’s free fishing for 2 in Spain, donated by Casting on the Ebro. The raffle went well and there were some great prizes most of which were won by Marilyn just like last year and was dually ribbed for it. Any entrant who was unlucky enough to blank were placed in a draw for a “all the gear but no idea” hoodie which was won by Chris Holmes

The estimated total is £3000.00 but it will be higher than this once all the sponsor forms are in, which is fantastic considering 24 anglers fished out of the possible 30 places. Once again this is a fantastic effort people and will help in the fight against Alzheimer’s
